The Victorian Sick Pay Guarantee initiative is a two-year pilot program that gives some Victorian casual and contract workers, in eligible jobs, access to up to 38 hours of sick and carer’s pay per year (paid at the minimum wage rate).

It is up to the individual to sign up for the program which is fully funded by the Victorian Government, meaning there is no cost to the applicant or their employer.
The payments are taxable and workers are encouraged to seek tax advice if they require guidance on this.
